There is always a reason to travel to Mentone! This is a list of a few of the things taking place during this next week, barely scratching the surface of the many exciting events and attractions waiting for you in the mountains of NE Alabama!

March 6 Sky Swing Adventure This is an adventure of a lifetime. Enjoy the thrill of the swing. Pre-registration required at True Adventure Sports by 6 pm the day before the adventure. Meet at True Adventure Sports $45 per person. 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. 256-997-9577
March 7 Rock Climbing Adventure Nestled in the NE corner of Alabama are some of the best and unique sandstone cliffs in the country. Come experience first-hand what rock climbing is all about with guides who are fun, safe and energetic. This trip includes all the gear plus basic instruction. March 8 Sculpt Your Own Flower Have you ever wanted to actually sit at the gaffer bench and feel what it is like to shape hot glass? It’s all about hands on experience in a safe and fun atmosphere with a final product we know you will love. There is a minimum of 3 people and a maximum of 5 in each class. 9 am and 10 am. March 8 Green & Gray Saturday The National Park Service staff and volunteers will present “Green & Gray” programs on the second Saturday of each month. Topics include park resources and activities, climate change, recycling, energy conservation, eco-gardening, exotic plants, native landscaping, pollution prevention, green energy, and more! March 11 GPS Basic Training and Navigation Class Part 1 Learn how to use a map, compass, and a handheld GPS. Learn basic navigation and how to pinpoint a location for quick return, or quick rescue. March 12 Treasure Hunt Adventure Do you enjoy trying to solve riddles and clues? This 5-hour adventure will take you deep into the heart of Manitou Cave.
