April 15 Wild Cave Tour This 2.5 hour adventure is for those of you ready to explore on your knees, on your belly, in the mud and through tight tunnels in one of NE Alabama's most unique all-weather caves, Manitou Cave, in the heart of Fort Payne. Adventure includes helmet, cave lamps plus a fun informative guide. Meet at True Adventure Sports at 5 p.m.
April 17 GPS Basic Training and Navigation Class Part 1 Learn how to use a map, compass, and a handheld GPS. Learn basic navigation and how to pinpoint a location for quick return, or quick rescue. Also learn how to search by waypoints or coordinates. True Adventure Sports from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
April 18 Mountain Bike Tour This tour explores some beautiful trails and paths atop Lookout Mountain or Sand Mountain. Come have an enjoyable ride without the fear of getting lost. This three hour tour includes a mountain bike rental, instruction, and a guide for safety, direction, and information. Meet at True Adventure Sports at 3 p.m.
April 18 Extreme Night Hike This end-of-day adventure does not slow down just because it's dark. Intended for a large group team-building exercise, this hike has a bit of bouldering, some scrambling, some spelunking, and a whole lot of required working together. Headlamp and enthusiastic guide included. Meet at True Adventure Sports at 7:30 p.m.
April 19 Rock Climbing / Rappelling Adventure Combo Experience first-hand what rock climbing and rappelling is all about with guides who are fun, safe and energetic. This trip includes all the gear plus basic instruction. No prior climbing experience is needed. Event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
April 19 Night Zip Line All our zip lines are set up just before the adventure to ford a gorge or cross from one high point to another. Enjoy the thrill of the zip line at night. Pre-registration required at True Adventure Sports by 6 p.m. the day before the adventure. Event takes place from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
April 21 Afternoon Rock Climb This trip includes all the gear plus basic instruction. No prior climbing experience is needed. 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

April 23 Mountain Bike Tour This tour explores some beautiful trails and paths atop Lookout Mountain or Sand Mountain. The three hour tour includes a mountain bike rental, instruction, and a guide for safety, direction, and information. $65 per person Meet at True Adventure Sports. Event lasts from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

April 16 -17 One World Backpacking Series Trail navigation with a map and compass: Second trip in the series, we’ll have a brief land navigation crash course for trail hiking. Learn the ins and outs of the compass and basic map understanding and how to mark trails so you don’t get lost. We’ll hike out and do some hands on training while we are out there for the remainder of the time and will even touch on some night navigation if it the sky is clear. You will need to bring a good compass. Ages: Adults and youth 14 and up. Youth under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Cost: $110 per person includes meals and all equipment. $85 per person includes meals (must provide your own equipment). $65 per person includes instruction (must provide own equipment and food). April 16 - 18 Spring Break Tours At Tigers For Tomorrow An exciting Spring break line up! Visitors can get an up close visit with the animals in The Legacy Living Classroom and even feed the animals at the animal contact area while waiting for the tour to begin. Regular tour prices discounted during this special time. The tour is just $10.00 for children ages 3-11 and $15.00 for those ages 12 and above. All children under 3 are free! These tours are usually $25.00 a person for this up-close and personal time with the animals. On the tour you will learn about the predators we share our world with, their instincts and behaviors as well as why they are here at Untamed Mountain. Bring your camera as tour guests will be allowed to take photos, but no videos will be allowed during this time. NO CELL PHONE USE IN PRESERVE please. Please also wear closed toed shoes or sneakers this is a 1 ½ hour walking tour are recommended. NO RESERVATIONS are needed and for more information please call 256-524-4150.

April 19 Sculpt Your Own Flower at Orbix Hot Glass Have you ever wanted to actually sit at the gaffer bench and feel what it is like to shape hot glass? It’s all about hands on experience in a safe and fun atmosphere with a final product we know you will love. There is a minimum of 3 people and a maximum of 5 in each class. Takes place at 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Reservations are required. Call Orbix at 256-523-3188.
April 19 Easter Egg Hunt The Community Easter Egg Hunt will be at the MERF house on Alabama Highway 117 in Mentone. There will be an egg hunt, a hot dog lunch, cotton candy, several gift cards to give away and lots of fun. Bring your basket and parent(s). Dress suitably for the weather. Event is Free! Due to limited parking, we ask that you park in the Moonlake School parking lot and walk to the MERF House. This event is sponsored by the Mentone area churches and takes place from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
April 19 How to Make Pucker Pouches Join Robert Wilson for a class on how to make a Pucker pouch, a simple bag that can be made into a necklace and even a belt pouch. All supplies will be provided. Event takes place from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at DeSoto State Park Nature Center. A $10 supply fee applies. Pre-registration is required, as class size is limited to 10 people. 256-997-5025
April 19 How to Make Weaved Pouches There are many handy things that can be made by weaving paracord/cordage. Join Robert Wilson to learn how to make basic -weave pouches from paracord that can be used for many different things. All supplies will be provided. Event takes place at the DeSoto State Park Nature Center (next to the Country Store) from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. A $10 supply fee applies.
