April 15 Wild Cave Tour Go beyond where the average tourist explores!  This 2.5 hour adventure is for those of you ready to explore on your knees, on your belly, in the mud and through tight tunnels.  Explore in one of NE Alabama's most unique all-weather caves, Manitou Cave, in the heart of For Payne.  Adventure includes helmet, cave lamps plus a fun informative guide.  Meet at True Adventure Sports.    $30 per person.  5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. 256-997-9577

April 16 Extreme Night Hike This end-of-day adventure does not slow down just because it's dark.  Intended for a large group team-building exercise, this hike has a bit of bouldering, some scrambling, some spelunking, and a whole lot of required working together.  Headlamp and enthusiastic guide included. April 16 & 17 Fourth Annual "A View From Earth" Earth Day Celebration  This year we added an extra night to have something for everyone!  April 16th will be "Country Night" headlining Marty Stuart and His Fabulous Superlatives along with Michael Jacobs, The Jeremy Leslie Band & more.

April 17th, we will rock the day and night away headlining Dangerous New Machine along with Down Stream, Rearview Ghost, The Brother Tree Band, Angry Native, Dayzd, & Beyond Human.  This is a non profit event with proceeds going to Tigers For Tomorrow Exotic Animal Preserve.  Some furry friends will join us for the day events with lots for the kids to do! Bring chairs, blankets and umbrellas and join us!  Adults: $15 for 1 day, $25 for both days; Children: $6 for 1 day, $10 for both days; 3 and under are free. Lots of food and earth friendly vendors available.

April 17 Early Spring Hike at DeSoto State Park One of the most beautiful times of the year at DeSoto State Park! Join DSP staff on an easy meandering hike along the ADA-Accessible Azalea Cascade Boardwalk Trail to see early blooming-species of plants & Azalea Cascade. Meet at the Nature Center 10 p.m. to 12 p.m. Free to the public; registration appreciated but not required. Great for all ages! 256-997-5025

April 17 Rock Climbing / Rappelling Adventure Combo Nestled in the NE corner of Alabama are some of the best and unique sandstone cliffs in the country.  Come experience first-hand what rock climbing and rappelling is all about with guides who are fun, safe and energetic. April 17 & 18  Gun & Knife Show This event will be held at the DeKalb County VFW Fairgrounds in Fort Payne.  It will house 350 tables of rifles, shotguns, handguns, knives, edged weapons, modern & antique weapons, and related items.  Free parking. April 20 Bouldering Adventure – Atop Lookout Mountain Come experience first-hand what bouldering is all about with guides who are fun, safe and energetic. This trip includes all the gear plus basic instruction. We will climb on some of the best boulders atop Lookout Mountain. April 20 “Get Your Ducks in a Row” Earth Day Event  This event will be help at the Valley Head town park and will pen with a brief history of Earth Day. The first 50 guests in the park will receive a free grocery tote. Guests can visit displays, go on nature walks, or even take part in environmental activities and crafts. Their will be food vendors on site. The grand finale for the evening will be a duck race. Participants can sponsor a duck prior to the race and have a chance to win $50.  Event begins at 5pm. In there is bad weather, event will take place April 23.
