March 25 Practical Ingenuity School-Think Outside The Box This class is open to the public and will be taught by different people at different times. The object of the class is to help each of us to use our mind to think of other solutions (if the known one is not available) to any given problem(s) from mechanical to business and everything in between. March 27 Spring Canyon Hike This is one of our most challenging and rewarding hike of the year! Join JSU Field Schools for an unforgettable view of one of Alabama’s natural wonders, Little River Canyon. Hike level: difficult/extreme. March 27 Rappelling Basics Class This class covers rappelling basics indoor and basics outdoor.  The basics indoor class teaches you about rappelling safety/rappelling gear and its application, rappelling knots and application, and rigging points needed for rappelling.  The basics outdoor class reviews safety procedures, knots, gear, and rigging points; then you learn how to safely rappel and do several rappels before returning to the store for the rappelling test and knot exam.  Total indoor and outdoor cost $145/person. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  256-997-9577  Note: You will receive a Class 1 rappelling card upon successful completion of this class and exams.

March 27 River Rhythms Family Fun Programs: Hissss and Sssslither Join Canyon Center staff and volunteers every fourth Saturday of the month for fun nature programs including hikes, crafts, games, nature talks, activities and more. Kids will learn why snakes are an important part of our natural world, how to identify snakes, and will take a short “fake snake” hike to learn better observation skills.
