March 22 Wild Cave Tour Go beyond where the average tourist explores! This 2.5 hour adventure is for those of you ready to explore on your knees, on your belly, in the mud and through tight tunnels. March 23 - 25 High Adventure Trip This is a 3 day adventure including a Wild Cave Tour, Rock Climbing, An Extreme Night Hike and end with a relaxing canoe trip. March 25 Practical Ingenuity School-Think Outside The Box This class is open to the public and will be taught by different people at different times. The object of the class is to help each of us to use our mind to think of other solutions (if the known one is not available) to any given problem(s) from mechanical to business and everything in between. March 26 & 27 Geraldine 25th Annual Quilt Show This 2-day event will be held at the Geraldine Homemaker’s Building and will offer beautiful handmade quilts of all designs. You will be able to register to win a free quilt. Show will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 26 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on March 27. Admission is $3 per person. March 27 Spring Canyon Hike This is one of our most challenging and rewarding hike of the year! Join JSU Field Schools for an unforgettable view of one of Alabama’s natural wonders, Little River Canyon. Hike level: difficult/extreme. Not recommended for children under 14. March 27 Rappelling Basics Class This class covers rappelling basics indoor and basics outdoor. The basics indoor class teaches you about rappelling safety/rappelling gear and its application, rappelling knots and application, and rigging points needed for rappelling. The basics outdoor class reviews safety procedures, knots, gear, and rigging points; then you learn how to safely rappel and do several rappels before returning to the store for the rappelling test and knot exam. March 27 River Rhythms Family Fun Programs: Hissss and Sssslither Join Canyon Center staff and volunteers every fourth Saturday of the month for fun nature programs including hikes, crafts, games, nature talks, activities and more. Kids will learn why snakes are an important part of our natural world, how to identify snakes, and will take a short “fake snake” hike to learn better observation skills.
